Newly promoted Kerry will face Down in Round 1 of the Christy Ring Cup on Saturday week.

Eamonn Kelly’s outfit, who beat  Antrim to win promotion to Division 1B of the league two weeks ago, were drawn at home to the Ulster side.

The details of the draws for the tier 2, 3 and four counties were announced by the GAA today.

Elsewhere, Meath host Wicklow, Derry will have home advantage over Mayo and Kildare face a trip to London.

The winners will face off the following week after an open draw, with the provision that any winner that played away in the first round will have home advantage if drawn against a team that played at home in the first round.

Winners from this round will go into the semi-finals, while the losers earn a place in the quarter.

The other quarter-finalists will come from Round 2(B), which involves teams beaten in Round 1, while the beaten teams from this round will meet in a relegation play-off.

The final will take place on 6 June with the winners promoted to the Provincial Qualifier Group as amended at the 2015 congress.

Meanwhile, the draw for the Nicky Rackard Cup sees Monaghan welcome Longford, Donegal host Tyrone, Fingal having home advantage against Roscommon, while Louth make the short trip to Armagh.

The opening round of games in the Lory Meagher Cup, which is a five-team round-robin format, sees Fermanagh at home to Warwickshire, Sligo visiting Leitrim, and Lancashire have the first-round bye.

The top two teams at the end of the league qualify for the final.

The Lory Meagher winner will play the Nicky Rackard Relegation play-off loser in a Promotion/ Relegation game.

All opening-round ties are down for decision on 2 May.
