A promising start to the league campaign was followed by a dip in form. However, things ended well for the Dublin hurlers as they beat Galway in their concluding regulation game at Parnell Park.
The victory guaranteed Ger Cunningham's side their Division 1A status for another year as well as a date with Limerick in the Division 1 quarter-final.
Prior to the win over the Tribesemen, Cunningham reflected on last week's loss to Clare and how the squad were determined to make amends.
Speaking to RTÉ sport, he said: "We played pretty well against Clare but doesn't close out the game and we lost our shape in the last couple of minutes.
"We had a great chance to win it so we were anxious to atone for that today. Thankfully we got the right result and have guaranteed us our status {Division 1A] for next year. We got hat and now we have a competitive game in the quarter-final."
Reflecting further on their third league win this spring, Cunningham added: "At half-time I said things were on the line even though I thought we were the better side all through the match.
"In the first half, in particular, we played some good hurling. The goals brought them right back into the game and we never really pulled away. Overall, I'm happy that we scored 0-26 and with the guys that came on as subs."
The Cork native also praised Liam Rushe's contribution against Galway where the Palmerstown clubman lined out at full-forward.
"I thought Liam did well and got a brilliant score in the second half that lifted us and pout us four ahead," he said.
"It was a crucial score from out on the sideline. He;s a good player and can play anywhere. There's no guarantee he'll be full-forward for the championship but we'll see how it goes."
