Former Clare player and manager Anthony Daly has been appointed as the new director of Limerick's underage hurling academy.

As part of the new role, the Clarecastle clubman will also coach the county's minor hurling side, which will be managed by Leo O'Connor,

Both positions became vacant following the departure of Jerry Wallace, the former Antrim manager and coach.

For Daly, it's a return to the inter-county scene after he stepped down as Dublin manager after six seasons in charge

In that time, he guided the Metropolitans to a Division 1 league title and a first Leinster title victory in 52 years.
