Former All-Ireland winning captain Mark Landers has been confirmed as the new coach of the Cork senior hurling squad.

Landers, who lifted the Liam MacCarthy in 1999, replaces Kieran Kingston, who recently stepped down.

The appointment will see the Killeagh clubman once again link up with Rebel boss Jimmy Barry-Murphy after playing under him in that All-Ireland triumph from 15 years ago.

Since his retirement, Landers has been involved in coaching at club level and most recently, with the Rebel Óg Academy development squads. He also guided the Cork minor side this last season.
