Ballygunner were crowned Waterford hurling champions after a 2-16 to 0-09 victory over Mount Sion at Walsh Park.

With the wind at their backs, Ballygunner were 2-05 to 0-07 ahead at the break, with Brian O'Sullivan's two goals being the decisive scores.

Mount Sion had three chances to raise green flags just after half-time and these misses sapped their confidence as the victors pushed on.

In all. Pauric Mahony chipped in with 0-10 for Ballygunner who have now claimed thirteen county titles.

In Clare, Cratloe were comfortable 0-14 to 0-06 winners against Crusheen at Cusack Park in Ennis. County star Conor McGrath was on hand with 0-06 for the victors, who were 0-09 to 0-02 in front at half-time.

Indeed, the vanquished side hit 11 wides in the opening 35 minutes and never looked like getting the goals they needed to get back into the game thereafter. For Cratloe, it's a first county title since 2009.

Elsewhere, Wolf Tones from Mostrim regained the Longford crown after a 2-10 to 1-10 win over Clonguish Gaels at Pearse Park. Patrick Cullen and John Mulhern got the all-important goals for the winners.

Bray Emmets had one point to spare - 2-09 to 1-11 - over Glenealy in the Wicklow decider in Aughrim.

Coill Dubh were victorious in Kildare after their 3-11 to 0-16 triumph over Celbridge.
