Anthony Cunningham has been re-appointed Galway senior hurling manager and Kevin Walsh has been appointed senior football manager.

At its monthly meeting on Monday night, the Galway County GAA Committee unanimously endorsed recommendations of the County Management Committee that Cunningham be appointed on a two-year basis, and Walsh on a three-year basis, with annual reviews for both.

Cunningham led Galway to the All-Ireland final in 2012 before they were beaten by Kilkenny in a replay.

They were eliminated by Clare in 2013 and by Tipperary in the All-Ireland series this season.

Walsh previously had a five-year tenure with Sligo and guided them to a Connacht final in 2010.

His selectors will be Corofin's Brian Silke and Sean Conlon from Barna.
