Kilkenny’s Henry Shefflin looks set to miss the start of this year’s All-Ireland Hurling Championship after he suffered a stress fracture of the foot.
Shefflin’s club Ballyhale Shamrocks confirmed the injury and revealed that the 11-time All Star is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks.
The Cats get their Leinster Championship campaign underway on 7 June when they host Offaly at Nowlan Park, a game that Shefflin is likely to miss.
However should Kilkenny, as expected, overcome Offaly then their next game will be the Leinster semi-final on 22 June and Shefflin could be in contention for that should he suffer no complications during his recovery.
Best wishes to Henry on a full recovery from his injury that has been confirmed as a stress fracture and most likely to be out for 6 weeks!
