Dublin qualified to meet Wexford in the semi-final of the Bord na Mona Walsh Cup with a 2-20 to 2-15 victory over UCD at Parnell Park on Tuesday evening.
Paul Ryan was top scorer with a tally of 2-09 for the victors, while Wexford senior Jack Guiney fired over 0-07 for the Students.
The opening goal of the game came after 32 minutes when Ryan blasted a 20 metre free to the back of the net. Anthony Daly's side led 1-10 to 0-08 at the interval.
UCD were givien a lifeline shortly after the resumption. A mistake from Dublin goalkeeper Alan Nolan, where his attempt to prevent an effort for a point from Cillian Buckley, saw him step over the line.
However the Students were soon reduced to 14 players when William Egan was dismissed after picking up a second yellow card.
Ryan's second goal from an acute angle on 53 minutes gave Dublin a cushion they would not relinguish and so set set up a meeting with the Model County in Gorey at the weekend.
