Michael Fennelly is a doubt for Kilkenny’s Leinster championship campaign after picking up an ankle injury while playing for his club Ballyhale Shamrocks.
The former Hurler of the Year injured his left ankle in a league game against Clara and was brought to hospital.
The Cats open the bid to regain the provincial crown when they travel to Tullamore to take on Offaly on 9 June.
Earlier this week it was confirmed that Henry Shefflin will not start against the Faithful County. He suffered a stress fracture while doing light training in his effort to shake off the effects of an ankle problem that has sidelined him since last December.
