Limerick's Brian Geary has announced his retirement as an inter-county hurler.
Despite being named in the Treaty training panel for 2013, Geary has now opted to call time on a 13-year career that saw him occupy the centre-half-back berth.
The Monaleen player was a member of the side that won successive All-Ireland U-21 titles in 2000 and 2001 and was also involved in the Limerick team that lost to Kilkenny in the 2007 senior decider.
As a footballer, Geary won four county titles with his club and also picked up a Munster U-21 medal in 2001, before a subsequent defeat to Tyrone in the All-Ireland decider.
