The Longford hurlers will take part in this year's Lory Meagher Cup following a meeting of county board officials, players and management last night.
Longford failed to field a team for Sunday’s Allianz Hurling League match against Fermanagh. The Division 3B match, down for Brewster Park, had to be postponed because Longford only had 12 players available for selection.
That led to speculation that the team would be withdrawn from the Lory Meagher, but the players have re-affirmed their committment to the county and will be back in training next weekend.
