Coolderry forward Cathal Parlon says there is no chance of the Offaly side underestimating their Ulster opponents in Saturday's AIB All-Ireland Hurling Senior Club Championship final.
Parlon’s Coolderry face Antrim champions Loughgiel Shamrocks in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day and the 25-year-old Offaly hurler knows that his side face a huge test.
Speaking in The Sun, Parlon said: “Loughgiel were in the All-Ireland semi-final last year and we are not going to underrate them. Loughgiel are passionate about their hurling.
"They’re going to be very physical as well and are going to be in your face. There is lots of hurling in them."
Fitzgibbon Cup winner Parlon also says that the success of county rivals Birr, who have four All-Ireland titles, has been a source of inspiration to his team.
“It’s the biggest day in the club’s history, first time ever in an All-Ireland. Birr have such a huge history and they are probably one of the best club teams of all time.
“It’s nice that we have that experience in Offaly. They are our rival club but still, it is probably a bit of a help. We are actually using their facilities a bit as well at the moment."
The game throws in at 2pm on Saturday in Croke Park.
