Dublin manager Anthony Daly was happy to see his side return to form despite the one-point loss to Cork in the Allianz Hurling League Division 1 meeting in Croke Park on Sunday.
The Dubs were beaten 2-18 to 2-17 by Cork with Paul Ryan missing a late chance to rescue a draw in a thrilling second-half.
It was a much improved showing from the comprehensive defeat to Galway last time out for Daly’s men and he was pleased to see a better level of display on Sunday.
He told RTÉ: “It is hard to sum it up. It was one of those ones that was up and down. We looked like we had it. We really felt at half-time that we were fortunate to be within two points even though we had the two best goal chances.
“In fairness to Donal Og Cusack, he is as sharp as ever and he kept them out. It was one or those ones that it is a break of the ball either way. Small things decide these ones but the main thing is we got back to a level of a high octane performance there.
“We didn’t produce anything like that in Salthill. We got what we deserved which was a good beating. It could have gone either way on Sunday but we didn’t the rub of the green at the end of it.”
