1706 The referee blows the full-time whistle, Kilkenny are All-Ireland champions once again. What a performance. They worked so hard for this victory after the disappointment of 2010.

70 min We begin two minutes of added-time. Kilkenny just need to stop the goal threat.

Sean, York, UK.
1625 Liam Sheedy feels the Tipp forward line have let the first 35 minutes pass by.
1620 The first scores in the second half will be very important. Kilkenny need to build a lead because Tipperary will come back strong at some stage.
1614 From Sile Hayes on Twitter: "Come on the Premier. Listening in from Kochi, Japan."
1612 It has been a gripping game, lit up by that classy Michael Fennelly goal. Kilkenny deservedly lead and Tipp must raise their game. It is beautifully poised.
Half-time: Kilkenny 1-08 Tipperary 0-06
35 + 4 min This was a pivotal moment at the end of the half as Patrick Maher tries to get in on goal. Maher is impeded by a Kilkenny defender Noel Hickey, preventing a path to goal. It is a free to Tipp and Kelly sends it over. Kilkenny 1-08 Tipperary 0-06
35 + 3 min Colin Fennelly picks up a nasty cut so he will be temporarily replaced by TJ Reid.
35 + 2 min Gearoid Ryan and Michael Rice exchange points in the opening stages of five minutes of added-time. Kilkenny 1-08 Tipperary 0-05
35 min Until now. Flowing move from Kilkenny as from a sideline ball it is worked to Shefflin to find Hogan and then the onrushing Michael Fennelly to march towards goal. Fennelly strikes low and into the net. Kilkenny 1-07 Tipperary 0-04

28 min John O'Brien wins the ball outside the square but he can't find room to shoot. Kilkenny had numbers in defence Jackie Tyrell came away with the ball.

19 min The Tipperary and Kilkenny players get into a heated exchange and Tommy Walsh's hurley connects with the referee's nose in the melee. Brian Gavin's nose is cut and the game will be stopped.

16 min Tipp are on the scoreboard as Padraic Maher picks out Noel McGrath and he splits the post. Relief for the Premier. Kilkenny 0-05 Tipperary 0-01
15 min Shefflin hit a wide in the minute before this but, following Tommy Walsh magnificent leap and pass, Shefflin notches a point with a fine shot from the left of the field. Kilkenny 0-05 Tipperary 0-00
14 min Kilkenny are dominating this game with Richie Power showing a turn of pace to find room to score. Kilkenny 0-04 Tipperary 0-00
12 min Hogan's long ball in is flicked on by Eoin Larkin towards the empty net. Paul Curran stops the ball on the line, preventing the goal. Fantastic composure by Curran as he clears.

10 min David Herrity is fouled by Lar Corbett just outside the square so it will be a free out for Kilkenny. Cody will be pleased with this start.
8 min Kilkenny have been winning all the high balls so far. The pace is at an unbelievable level. Tipp still waiting for their first score.
7 min It is a very difficult position for Eoin Kelly, close to the sideline, and the 65 goes wide of the far post at Hill 16.
6 min Tipperary win a 65 with JJ Delaney and Seamus Callanan getting involved in a fracas just before it is awarded.
4 min Larkin claims a high ball from Michael Fennelly, turns and fires it over the bar. This is a positive start by Kilkenny. Kilkenny 0-02 Tipperary 0-00

3 min Lar Corbett is shouldered out of play by JJ Delaney which brings a good roar from the Kilkenny fans.
2 min Colin Fennelly wins a free 30 metres from goal, with Michael Cahill penalised for holding the Kilkenny jersey. Henry Shefflin makes no mistake with the free. Kilkenny 0-01 Tipperary 0-00
1 min We're underway as Colin Fennelly gives away the ball and a big battle for possession brings about the physical start we expected.
1528 Declan Ryan looks relaxed as he smiles at something when looking on from the sideline. I wonder if his players are feeling the same way.
1528 "Listening in from Santiago de Chile......vamos los Cats!"
Peter Foley
1527 Thanks for all your message so far. Keep them coming and enjoy the next two hours. Hoping for a classic.

1520 The players finish their final huddle and line up for the national anthem and to meet President McAleese.

50 min Donal Gormley's deflected shot is batted away by Shane Mannion in the Galway goal.
49 min Winters' free keep Dublin in the game but they do need a goal now you feel. Dublin 0-09 Galway 0-16
45 min Dublin have hit nine wides so far so you can see why they trail here. Galway have not exactly been clinical but they have taken their points well when needed.
1409 "Lying on a beach in Samos, Greece, and praying that my mobile internet connection remains intact for at least text commentary on this afternoon's big clash.
"Kilkenny for 5 out of 6 with match-winning displays from Shefflin, Hogan and Tommy Walsh!"

It's 23:31 here and they seem to be enjoying it although they haven't a clue what's going on. Maybe it's the beer and vodka that's making them cheerful. One has remarked that the players look very young. I am trying to explain that it's the minor final. They don't get why such a large crowd would want to watch 'kids.' Anyway, up the cats!"
Bryan MacDonald

17 min The teams exchange free but the scoring rate is not brilliant. There has been plenty of errors which is understable in such a big game.
15 min Galway's Gerard O'Donoghue tries to muster a goal chance but the Dublin backs manage to get enough on the ball to knock it away to safety just outside the square.
11 min Jonathan Glynn quickly level things up. The game is warming up nicely. Dublin 0-02 Galway 0-02

Love every minute and I genuinely couldn't care less who wins, just gonna savour the spectacle and hope it turns out to be near as good as the last two years. If I had to make a call I'd say Tipp by two with the in form Lar Corbett being the difference."
James Coyle in Barcelona.

1243 Read Seamus Leonard’s preview on the game here.
1242 All-Ireland final day always brings messages from around readers and listeners around the world, offering a connection to people missing home. We’ll try to get to as many as possible today.
1241 The minor final is between Dublin and Galway and I’ll bring you updates on that game from 1:15pm.
1240 From Aidan Elder on Twitter: “Can’t pick a winner. Gonna kick back and savour the amazing talent. I used the same approach for Song for Europe each year”.
1239 I’m predicting a four-point win for Kilkenny but that counts for little given my opinion has changed all week!
1238 Many people believe it will be the younger Tipperary legs that will prove crucial in the closing stages. Kilkenny still have the class to control the game for long stages. Whether that it is the case for their backs is a big thing. John McIntyre told us earlier in the week that he expects a rip-roaring opening for Kilkenny and they will “empty the tank”.
1233 Rory Crosbie: "It's 11.24 Sunday night in Auckland, NZ. Heard it's a wet day which may suit the Tipp boys better than the Cats. This Yellowbelly is going for Tipp by two points. Off to sleep now. Enjoy."
1134 Noelle Dunne in Phoenix, USA: "It's 3.29am and four hours till throw-in, good luck to the Cats. Early start here for the match but I'm sure Liam will be coming back home to Kilkenny Monday evening and will be out celebrating in CityWest tonight."
1113 Eugene in Chicago: It's 4.45am in Chicago and this Kilkenny fan can't sleep. Looking forward to another classic If our half-forward line defends well we can bring Liam home again.UP THE CATS!!
1110 From Des Cahill on Twitter: "The Sunday Game names its team of the year tonight. Try picking a team this morning and compare it to the team you pick tonight."
1110 As I write this I’m on the way to Dublin on a train from Sligo with a carriage packed with Tipperary and Kilkenny supporters. They are everywhere today it seems!
1100 From RTE’s Darren Frehill on Twitter: “This is my favouritre sports day of the year”.
1050 From RTE’s Evanne Ni Chuilinn on Twitter: “Clouds in Dublin looking more ominous than they did at 7am this morning. Rain won’t help or hinder either team this afternoon though. So hard to call!”
1040 It is a big call by Brian Cody to replace TJ Reid with Eddie Brennan. On reflection Reid was ineffective in the semi-final with Waterford. But Brennan has yet to start a game all year. You have to think he has been showing impressively in training and he is a brilliant player to call upon on a day like this.
1030 From Michael Conlan on Twitter: “I’m going for the Cats to bring home the bacon. The hunger is back. They haven’t gone away you know."
1000 The day has finally arrived. It is level pegging with one win apiece for Tipperary and Kilkenny in the last two years. Today’s game promises to be a classic and we want you to follow every piece of the action with us. Wherever you are in the world, sit back and enjoy this All-Ireland hurling final day, it should be one to remember.
