"We got wind that he was teaching in Dublin and we asked him would he throw his lot in with us. Leaving his club was the biggest wrench for a fellow like that, like it would be for all of us I suppose.
"Leaving your club would be the hardest part for a proud Cashel man and no doubt he will give them a bit of a service again before he hangs up the hurley.
"When he says he throw in his lot, he gives you his lot. That is Ryan I suppose. He had a great league campaign and a tremendous league final.
"He did a silly thing against Galway in the Championship and I suppose management and players made him fully aware that we weren’t happy with that and it was letting down everybody.
"He took that on board and came out against Limerick and really delivered the last day so it was great for him on the day and great for us all."
