The Tipperary County Board has said that no decision has been reached on who will replace Liam Sheedy as the county’s hurling manager.
A report in today's Irish Independent has linked the Nicky English with a return to the post, which was vacated by Sheedy after he led the county to the All-Ireland title in September.
English has won two All-Irelands as a player and also guided the Premier County to the Championship as a manager in 2001.
But an official spokesman dismissed the news as speculation, saying that the search to find Liam Sheedy's successor is ongoing.
