Cork hurling legend Sean Óg O hAilpín may be on the verge of retiring from inter-county hurling according to a report today.
The Irish Examiner said it was 'understood' that O hAilpín met with Cork coach Denis Walsh and his backroom staff over the weekend and made his decision to hang up his boots.
O hAilpín has enjoyed a 14-year career with the Rebels which reached its pinnacle when he captained his county to All-Ireland glory in 2005, after already claiming All-Ireland medals in 1999 and 2004.
The Na Piarsaigh clubman has been named as a hurling All-Star three times and also won Senior County Championships with his club in 1995 and 2004.
