1719 That concludes the text commentary for the day and indeed this year's Hurling Championship.

A big thanks for all your e-mails today, hope you enjoyed the action.

See you all again for the Camogie and Football finals. Well done to Tipperary and indeed Kilkenny for a fantastic game.

1717 What a day. Tipperary recorded a deserved success over a brilliant Kilkenny side that just were not at their best today.

1716 Kelly has also paid tribute to beaten Kilkenny. A nice gesutre by the Tipp captain.

1714 Eoin Kelly is making the customary speech with the biggest roar greeting Kelly's salute to manager Liam Sheedy.

1710 GAA President Christy Cooney presents the trophy to Eoin Kelly as blue and yellow ticket tape falls onto Croke Park. Brian Cody and the Kilkenny players watch on heartbroken.

1708 The Tipp players are heading into the Hogan Stand for the presentation.

1707 Brian Cody shakes hands with Tipp manager Liam Sheedy as the Kilkenny players sit dejected on the field. The fans have remained in the stands.

1706 Tipperary have done it! The referee blows for full-times as the Tipp players and management celebrate a much-craved All-Ireland finaly victory

Full-time - Kilkenny 1-18 Tipperary 4-17

70 + 3 min Michael Rice hits a consolation score for Kilkenny. Kilkenny 1-18 Tipperary 4-17

That is how you win a final, that is how you stop a drive for five. Lar Corbett completes his hat-trick with a super shot passed the Kilkenny goalkeeper PJ Ryan. Dream stuff for Corbett and the Premier County.

GOAL - TIPPERARY - LAR CORBETTT

70 + 1 min Seamus Hennessy adds the insureance score now, we're 90 seconds into three minutes of added time. Kilkenny 1-17 Tipperary 3-17

70 min Benny Dunne makes it a five point game, Tipperary are about to win the 2010 All-Ireland Hurling Championship. Kilkenny 1-17 Tipperary 3-16

69 min Great defending by Tipp as they win each loose ball.

68 min They need to take all their chances now but Tennyson hits another wide. Tipp making changes now as we enter the final minute.

67 min Magnificent score by Mulhall as the lead is cut to four points with two minutes to go. Kilkenny 1-17 Tipperary 3-15

66 min That was a brilliant goal chance by Power opts to take his point when beating his man to the ball with two fellow Kilkenny players well-placed. Kilkenny 1-16 Tipperary 3-15

65 min Another wide from a placed ball, this time by John Tennyson.

64 min It looks as if the game is up for Kilkenny as with six minutes to go the lead is now six points. Eoin Kelly is the man who converts the free for the Premier County. Kilkenny 1-15 Tipperary 3-15

62 min Dunne comes on for TJ Reid in the last throw of the dice by Brian Cody. Bad miss by Power from a free shortly after.

60 min What a score by Callinan, running on to the ball, easily picking it up and sending a bullet of a shot between the posts. Kilkenny 1-15 Tipperary 3-14

59 min Fourth wide of the game for Tipp, Lar Corbett's shot from the right side of the pitch goes just wide.

58 min Seamus Callinan was introduced two minutes ago and with his first touch he takes a pass and sends it over the bar. Kilkenny 1-15 Tipperary 3-13

57 min TJ Reid has had a great day so far and when the ball is worked to him after a scrappy period of play, there is only going to be one result. Kilkenny need to keep tapping away at this lead. Kilkenny 1-15 Tipperary 3-12

56 min Eoin Kelly produces a pin-point free to make it a four point difference once again. They needed that one. Kilkenny 1-14 Tipperary 3-12

53 min Somehow the momentum is with Brian Cody's men and they are the ones finding the passes. The ball is worked to Derek Lyng and great work by Tommy Walsh earlier in the passage of play. Tipp haven't scored in several minutes, just a goal in it now. Kilkenny 1-14 Tipperary 3-11

51 min Brendan Cummins claims the ball but TJ Reid wins the ball back and fires it over. That was dangerous. Kilkenny 1-13 Tipperary 3-11

50 min Eddie Brennan and James Cha were the men to go off.

48 min More deliberate fouling by Tipp allows Richie Power to cut the gap even further. Amazingly Kilkenny have only scored two points from play so far. Derek Lyng and Martin Comeford are coming into the game for the Cats. Kilkenny 1-12 Tipperary 3-11

45 min Power tries to settle the Cats with a free but they are still in deep trouble. Kilkenny 1-11 Tipperary 3-11

43 min That could decide the result as the breaking ball from a long puck towards the Kilkenny goal breaks to McGrath and he managers to knock the ball into the corner of the net. Kilkenny 1-10 Tipperary 3-11

GOAL - TIPPERARY - NOEL MCGRATH

42 min Tennyson is booked for that misadventure in the run up to the goal.

41 min Unbelievable vision from John O'Brien as he picks out the oncoming Lar Corbett. Corbett bursts passed the Cats' defence. John Tennyson throws his hurley at Corbett to try and put the forward off but it is no use and he sends it home.

GOAL - TIPPERARY - LAR CORBETT

40 min Easy free for Eoin Kelly in front of the posts as Tipp regain the lead.

39 min TJ Reid strikes a sideline ball with perfection to bring Kilkenny level for the second time. Kilkenny 1-10 Tipperary 1-10

38 min It's all about Power as Tipp manage to win the ball from a long punt forward.

37 min Power strikes the post from 25 metres as Tipp struggle to hold on to their lead.

35 min We're underway in the second period and Kilkenny settle well. Rice, Fennelly and Fogarty combine to set up Power who cheekily shoots for goal from 25 metres. Cummins saves well. In hindsight maybe Power should have brought Kilkenny level there.

1623 I needed that break! The rain is getting heavier as the half-time break winds down.

Odds wise, Kilkenny are 1/3 favs still. Tipp go to 11/4.

1609 What a half of hurling. That is probably a fair scoreline as both teams have had spells of dominance.

Half-time - Kilkenny 1-09 Tipperary 1-10

35 min The character Kilkenny have shown has been incredible. Richie Power and Eoin Larkin have led the fightback for the Cats and Power makes it a one-point game from a free. Kilkenny 1-09 Tipperary 1-10

34 min Another easy free for Power, how quick a six-point lead can be dismantled. Kilkenny 1-08 Tipperary 1-10

32 min A goal worthy of the occasion.

Eoin Larkin has been quite good so far and Tipp will not get away with giving him too much time on the ball this time.

Larkin powers towards the goal and picks out Power who turns sharply and lashes the ball into the net. Kilkenny 1-07 Tipperary 1-10

GOAL - KILKENNY - RICHIE POWER

31 min Fortunate score for Tipp as Cummins once again produces a massive puck forward. Kilkenny foolishly give it away and Maher hits it over with his back turned. Good skill by Maher, mind.

29 min A second point for John O'Brien as he completes a fine move to put Tipp back in the ascendancy. Kilkenny 0-07 Tipperary 1-09

27 min Baffling decision by the referee as Larkin is pushed off the ball but the ref plays on. Tipp are awarded a free which Brendan Cummins sends over from inside his own 45-metre line for his first Championship point. He'd score a lot more if the wind was always this strong. Kilkenny 0-07 Tipperary 1-08

26 min Tennyson starting to close down Tipp and the Cats are now beginning to take over with Power finding the target from frees. Kilkenny 0-07 Tipperary 1-07

25 min Important score for Richie Power. The ball is positioned right in the centre line in the middle of the field and he fires it over. He needed that, a big confidence boost and a boost to the scoreboard for Brian Cody's men too. Kilkenny 0-06 Tipperary 1-07

24 min Bad miss by Noel McGrath, he did everything right to get by the Kilkenny defence but his effort with the boot is wide from 15 yards out.

23 min 'Beautiful and graceful' - Ger Canning's description of TJ Reid's point from the middle of the field. Kilkenny 0-05 Tipperary 1-07

22 min Richie Power, under pressure trying to fill King Henry's free taking boots, narrowly misses a free from the right side of the field. They need to take their chances with the lead already at six-points.

20 min Nice point for Tipp through Brendan Maher. A well-worked move and Maher finds space on the left to fire over. Kilkenny are coming into the game but they look a bit loose in defence. Kilkenny 0-04 Tipperary 1-07

18 min Big chance for Kilkenny as Larkin manages to pass the ball to Eddie Brennan on the right of the square but he can't find the target when shooting first time. It should have been a free from Kilkenny in front of goal as Larkin had been pulled back by two Tipp defenders. It's a 65 to the Cats actually, Richie Power will take it and sends it over. Kilkenny 0-04 Tipperary 1-06

17 min Jackie Tyrell is the latest man to cyncially foul for Kilkenny and Eoin Kelly points with ease from a considerable distance. Kilkenny 0-03 Tipperary 1-06

16 min Brendan Maher claims Noel McGrath's long ball and scores Tipp's fifth point of the day. Kilkenny 0-03 Tipperary 1-05

15 min Good response from the Cats as Richie Power points from an easy free and then Aidan Fogarty picks up the loose ball to fire over. Kilkenny 0-03 Tipperary 1-04

13 min Shefflin is out of the game. He can't continue and Michael Rice comes into the match. Shefflin gets a warm reception from the crowd, but it's no surprise really that he hasn't lasted after such a serious injury.

11 min From the resulting puck out Kilkenny play the ball to TJ Reid but Brendan Cummins produces a great save. John McGrath adds to Tipp's lead as Kelly is denied a goal. The Cats are rocked and Shefflin pulls up injured. He doesn't look good.

10 min What a start this is for Tipp. A huge pass forward leaves Lar Corbett and Noel Hickey competing for the ball in front of goal. Corbett gives Hickey no chance, winning the ball with ease as Hickey falls to the ground. Croker erupts as Corbett fires the ball into the net passed PJ Ryan. Kilkenny 0-01 Tipperary 1-03

GOAL - TIPPERARY - LAR CORBETT

8 min JJ Delaney robs the ball from Eoin Kelly when Tipp were well-positioned in the Kilkenny half. Noel McGrath is pushed in the back by John Dalton, leaving Eoin Kelly to score Tipp's third free. Kilkenny 0-01 Tipperary 0-03

6 min Great play from both teams, Dalton claims the ball eventually and the Cats are awarded a free. Shefflin lofts it forward from inside his own 65 but the breeze ensures it drops short and Tipp clear.

5 min It is a bit scrappy so far with plenty of frees being awarded to both sides. Eoin Kelly makes light work of a free from 45 metres. Kilkenny 0-01 Tipperary 0-02

4 min Henry gets up and running with a much easier free after a Tipp defender was punished for holding on too long. Kilkenny 0-01 Tipperary 0-01

3 min The wind is a lot stronger than during the Minor game and Eoin Kelly is the first man to benefit. His free from 40 metres or so sails over the bar for the first score of the day. Kilkenny 0-00 Tipperary 0-01

2 min TJ Reid's effort from 25 metres is just a bit short and is claimed by Brendan Cummins.

1 min Tipperary give away a couple of cheap frees in the opening minute, the latter is in Henry Shefflin's range from about 65 metres.

It goes wide and by a considerable distance. Tipp fans are happy to see that.

1531 The teams stand for the national anthem and a massive roar greets its conclusion. Here we go...

1528 There is a strong breeze in Croker, Kilkenny won the toss and have opted to play against the wind in the first period. John Tennyson reportedly grimaced during the warm-up because of a couple of injury worries, we'll keep an eye on him.

1527 The rain falls on a gloomy Dublin afternoon but it is doing little to hamper the atmosphere in Croke Park. The Drive for five reaches it's final stage.

1526 Michael Wadding, Waterford, is the referee. The atmosphere is building now with the players in parade.

1525 The President is greeting the players with Eoin Kelly introducing the Tipp players.

1523 President Mary McAleese and GAA President Cooney make their way through the tunnel.

1522 The Tipp lads look very eager, with Kilkenny a bit more composed.

Liam Sheedy offers some final words of advice to his players as they huddle in the middle of the field.

1520 Henry is practicing his frees. He is worth a place in the starting line-up just for placed balls.

1515 I'm going for a seven-point win for Kilkenny today. Tipp will start well I think but the Cats will prevail in the end.

1507 Kilkenny are currently on the field warming-up. No signs of any problems with Shefflin, he looks in good shape.

PJ Ryan, John Dalton, Noel Hickey, Jackie Tyrrell, Tommy Walsh, John Tennyson, J.J. Delaney, James 'Cha' Fitzpatrick, Michael Fennelly, TJ Reid, Henry Shefflin, Eoin Larkin, Eddie Brennan, Richard Power, Aidan Fogarty

1503 The rain has eased a bit now with less than 30 minutes to go.

Looking at the bookmaker's odds, Kilkenny are 2/5 to lift the Liam McCarthy cup once again.

Tipp are 9/4, with the draw 12/1.

1502 'Wishing the Premier County all the best today in the final.

'Come on lads ye can do it!'

Cyril Whelan a proud Tipp man ; Duekoue, Cote D'Ivoire ( Ivory Coast) West Africa.

1501 'Tipp to win by a point in another classic final.'

Jason- emailing from Kuwait

1500 'Eagerly anticipating the All-Ireland Hurling Final, it’s fairly hot here in Tel Aviv but nothing like it will be in the thick of the action later-on.

'No doubt Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh will add to the occasion as usual.

'No need for prayers today and let the best team win!

'Gaillimh Abu.'

Ciaran Mc Guinness/Ger Lyons

1458 Just to confirm folks, users outside of Ireland are unable to stream the game live on this website.

1455 Tippeary team:

Brendan Cummins, Paddy Stapleton, Paul Curran, Michael Cahill, Declan Fanning, Conor O'Mahony, Padraic Maher, Brendan Maher, Shane McGrath, Gearóid Ryan, Patrick Maher, John O'Brien, Noel McGrath, Eoin Kelly, Lar Corbett.

1448 We're gearing up for the Senior final now. Croke Park is filling up with 40 minutes until throw-in. More and more people seem to be going for a Tipp win. It's adding to the excitment if anything!

1435 It's over, Kilkenny have prevailed. That's a tough one for Clare to take, they gave everything they could today but Kilkenny just had the extra bit of quality.

1433 After a massive tussle for possession involving three pucks-ins, Michael Brennan eventually finds the space to shoot and score for the Cats. We're in the final 30 seconds now. Kilkenny 2-10 Clare 0-14

1429 There will be four minutes of added time. The Cats hit the bar when going for point. Clare have posted two wides in recent moments but there is still time left.

1427 It's a one-point game now! We've got two minutes remaining. The rain is getting heavier in Croker, Kilkenny are really struggling with Clare's forwards.

1424 We're in the final five minutes now in the Minor final and Clare are still in this game. They trail by two points. If they can keep it like that when we reach the final moments then they will still have a great chance. Kilkenny still look a bit nervy.

1423 Following the game from a caravan in Fremantle, Western Australia. Up the Cats!!'

Seamus O'Keeffe

1422 David O'Halloran gets Clare back into it with his fourth point of the day. Kilkenny 2-08 Clare 0-12

1420 Aylward with a point similar to Kevin Kelly's a short time ago. The question is whether Clare have anything left in the tank.

1419 Clare have not scored for nearly 10 minutes.

1418 That is perhaps the point of the day from Kevin Kelly. He picks the ball up near the left touchline and sends the ball sailing over the bar. Excellent score. Kilkenny lead with 11 and a half minutes left. Kilkenny 2-06 Clare 0-11

1417 Vaughan has been forced off with injury after picking up a knock in the goal. Another blow for Clare that, it looks serious as Vaughan is stretchered from the field.

1416 From Dave Sexton:

Just want to wish all involved in the All-Ireland the best of luck from all the Irish working for Tipp company Sepam out in Kazakhstan.

1413 Michael Brennan is rescuing Kilkenny and they draw level with a second goal of the game.

Brennan claims the ball, turns and beats two men before kicking the ball towards goal. It was brilliant skill by Brennan as he knew he didn't have the room to hit it with his hurley. The ball is going towards goal but I think a Kilkenny sub just got the final touch before it crossed the line. It doesn't matter who scored it, the Cats are level.

1410 Brian Cody is an interested observed on the sideline. Kilkenny are still struggling to put passes together but they are still showing glimpses of quality. Clare have had a couple of wides in between a free from close-in on goal that has extende their lead to three points. There are 18 minutes left on the clock and it is anybody's final.

1408 Good response from Clare, who had plenty of the ball and are working so, so hard.

1403 Best piece of play in the whole match and Kilkenny are back in it. Aylward jumps the highest to claom the long back and offloads to Brennan who fires into th corner of the net. Superb goal.

1401 Clare showing the same urgency and fight in the early stages of the second period. No more scores so far with two minutes gone.

1359 Mist falls on Croke Park meaning conditions are not quite perfect on final day. Hopefully it clears up for 90 minutes time. Meanwhile the Minors are back on the field.

1358 Clare man Mike McDonagh is in Amman, Jordan watching on.

1357 'Will be following the match from on the radio from Dubai.

'It’s Ramadan here so Irish Village dry until the second half at least.

'My son Patrick is lucky enough to be going to the match with his Uncle Sean, they are driving up from Clare as I type.

'With Tipp family connections they don’t want to see Kilkenny achieve the five in-a-row. It will be a miracle if Tipp can stop them though.

Looking forward as always to the unique commentry of Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh.

Cmon’ the Cats!!'

Paul Dowling.

1353 I am on tender hooks here in Dalian, China hoping the banner can do it, We cannot have Kilkenny winning both games today!'

From David Connell, a proud ex-Meath senior hurler.

1348 Half-time in Croker and Clare hold a surprise four point lead. It is fully deserved but in the final minutes of the half the Cats just started to show a bit of form. It should be an exciting second period.

1346 Michael Brennan reduces the gap with one minute of added-time remaining. Kilkenny 0-05 Clare 0-09

1344 Boyce adds to Clare's lead, venturing up from the back to point from distance. Kilkenny have yet to get going.

1342 Owen McGrath gets Kilkenny's first score in 22 minutes from a 50-metre free. It looks as if Clare will have a nice lead going into half-time.

1339 Very controversial moment as Kilkenny are awarded a very soft penalty. It should have not been awarded, it was a yard or so outside the area if it was a foul. Then from the penalty the ball looks to have crossed the line, but the referee plays on and Clare clear.

1334 One or two high tackles slowing up the game now with Clare'siall Arthur suffering from Phelan's attempt to win back possession.

1333 'Type faster' is the message from Diarmuid on the bus to the Gaelic Park in Chicago. Good man Diarmuid.

1330 Clare have moved into a four point lead, we could have an upset on the cards in the Minor final.

1325 David O'Halloran gets away from a Kilkenny defender and fires over from 50 metres for Clare. The Banner lead by a point with 11 minutes gone.

1321 Kilkenny move into the lead for the first time with two points in succession. The second was a long-range free from Owen McGrath.

1318 Collins scores the first point of the day for Clare.

1316 The Minor encounter is underway. No score after a minutes play.

1313 An Taoiseach Brian Cowen is on the pitch ready to greet the Minor teams.

1311 From Kevin Daly and Michelle Callanan

'Just settling down to watch the RTÉ coverage of All-Ireland Hurling Final day and get a taste of home all the way over here in Ulsan, South Korea!

'Would be great to be in Croke Park in person to roar on the Banner to victory against the mighty Kilkenny but this is the next best thing!'

1309 The Minor match will throw-in at 1315. Kilkenny are overwhelming favourites against Clare but it should be a fascinating match.

1304 It has been 51 years since we've had a draw in an All-Ireland Senior Hurling final. You wouldn't rule it out today!

1252 Kilkenny are going for a 20th Minor title today, while Clare are hoping to repeat their only victory in 1997.

Kilkenny: D Walsh; J Corcoran, W Phelan, B Kennedy; P O'Carroll, L Harney, O McGrath; K Kelly, O Walsh; J Power, P Walsh, C Buckley; M Brennan, G Aylward, T O'Hanrahan.

Clare: R Taaffe; H Vaughan, P Flanagan, S Morey; E Boyce, K Lynch, S O'Halloran; C Galvin, T Kelly; C Malone, P Collins, J Shanahan; D Keane, N Arthur, D O'Halloran.

1245 'Hello to all in Ireland.

'I am sending this from Asuncion, the capital city of Paraguay.

'I have a crowd of Paraguayans hoping to see the match – they are amazed with Hurling – they only know soccer here.

'Come on Tipp …. It’s your turn now and you were bone unlucky not to win last year!

From Garrett Kennedy (hello to all my friends and family in Dublin).'

1239 Surely someone has been looking over this picture for the last few weeks, shouting 'heal, heal, heal.'?

It's an amazing story. Henry Shefflin could go on to play a role in a historic fifth title in succession for the Cats, only weeks after suffering a cruciate ligament injury.

I won't believe he is playing until I see him at throw-in at 3:30.

1229 A reminder coverage is starting on RTÉ Two television and RTÉ.ie (Ireland only) now.

1226 This one is for Martin in his bed in Mayo.

Thanks to Paddy for the link.

In terms of the final songs, we're level. McCarthy number five!

1223 'Come on the Premier County from Ailish and Cathy Casey in Singapore.'

Thanks folks. For the first Football semi-final (Dublin v Cork) we had a massive amount of e-mails from folks listening to RTÉ Radio One and reading this page all over the world. Expecting the same, if not more, today!

1213 Read Seamus Leonard's thoughts on the game here.

1207 Both Henry Shefflin and Brian Tenneyson are set to start for the Cats while Tipp are unchanged from their semi-final win over Waterford.

1205 I think we're in for a great game today.

It was quite disappointing when the Cats destroyed Cork so early in the semi-final encounter.

Tipp will definitely put up a stronger challenge but if Kilkenny show that type of form again.....

1200 'What was the Tipperary rapping fan doing on UP FOR THE MATCH that upset you?

'I am following you on your texts from Saudi Arabia and am anxious to know?

'Come on Tipp.' From Tom Long.

He was rapping.

1154 I stand by my prediction.

1150 Crammed into a Luas were some very focused looking Tipperary fans a short time ago.

One accidently hit me with a newspaper for what I can only assume was a revenge attack after I predicted the winner of the Tipp v Waterford semi-final would lose to Kilkenny.

1140 Welcome to coverage of the All-Ireland Hurling finals.

We will have updates and descriptions on the big game here throughout the afternoon.

The Minor final between Kilkenny and Clare throws-in at 1:15pm so we'll also have updates from that.

We'd be delighted to hear from GAA fans/RTÉ.ie users around the world so if you'd like to get in touch and potentially see your comments added to this live text commentary on Hurling finals day, then sportonline@rte.ie is the email address.

The rapping Tipperary fan on Up for the Match will not be discussed as I suffered enough nightmares during the night.
