4.31pm A tremendous effort from Clare. They are a young side and showed they will be a force to be reckoned with in years to come. But, today The Déise used their experience to wear Clare down. Can Waterford up their game? They need to, if they don't they will struggle in the final.

70+3 mins Clare are exhausted, they've given it everything but look drained. Cooney fires at goal. Clinton Hennessy saves it. It's all too late though, referee Brian Gavin of Offaly blows his whistle for full-time.

36 mins And, it's back to the action. Throw-in takes place. Kevin Moran strikes the first point of the half. Molumphy knocks over another point soon after.

HALF-TIME: WATERFORD 0-09 CLARE 1-10

3.47pm Dam Shanahan: magic or muck, depending on the day. So far, it's been the latter, but he may yet turn the game.

3.44pm The Monday Game panel are building up the play of Clare's Clancy. Waterford will want to pay him far more attention second half. Playing with the wind may also help give Waterford a boost.

3.43pm Well, that was a fierce half of hurling. Clare were slow out of the traps, but hit their stride eventually. Three times they scored two points within 20 seconds of each other. That kind of tenacity and their midfield display has put Waterford in a tricky spot for the second half.

35+2 mins Yellow card for the goalscorer Honan. Eoin Kelly takes the resulting free. He works it to Kevin Moran 25 yards out on the right flank. He does the business, firing home the shot.

35 mins We are in injury time. Eoin Kelly has a free to narrow the gap. From 30 yards he splits the posts. Crucial point there to narrow the gap.

33 mins From 20 yards out, there is a clash for the sliotar on the ground. Darragh Honan claims it and steaming in on goal, he fires for the net. It is directed right at the top right-hand corner, the keeper had no chance. GOAL FOR CLARE!

31 mins Mullane is fed the ball from a right flank pass. He loses it first time, but is fed the ball again from the ensuing play. With his back to goal, he riffles a low shot between the posts from 30 yards.

30 mins Colin Ryan is over on the right, at halfway, to take a free. He hits it to the left and that's a poor effort.

28 mins Ger O'Loughlin strikes from 50 metres out. It's just to the right of the centre, but he puts it wide. Waterford are widing far too many chances now. The wind is no doubt playign a part. But, Maurice Shanahan wins the ball from the clearance and points from 20 yards. That's his first point ot the day.

26 mins A midfield ball is palyed through to Dan Shanahan, he sticks out the hurl to secure the possession, but just misses it. The ball goes straight through to Tuohy in the Clare goal . Clare break downfield and Clancy finishes another well-worked move for Clare.

25 mins Brian O'Connell has a chance at the other end for Clare. As he hits it the sliotar slides off the hurl slightly and he skims it wide to the right.

23 mins Mullane has an effort from the 45 yard line, but he puts it to the right. Mullane is strangely quiet - he is getting very little possession. Eoin Kelly wins the ball with a high catch; however, and fires home. He is the talisman for Waterford at present.

21 mins Nicky O'Connell fires another point from open play just twenty second later. Clare are winning so much ball in midfield under the breaking ball. Waterford are struggling to get the ball to their fron three.

11 mins Free-in to Clare. Colin Ryan takes it, the whole stadium thought he would take the point, but he went for the onion sack. The shot is straight at the keeper, questionable decision from Ryan.

9 mins Jonathan Clancy adds another soon after. From a similar distance out, but on the left flank. Conlon 30 seconds later wins a ball in the midfield and hits it first time, he makes it. Clare have turned this around in a minute.

8 mins Sean Collins picks up the ball 20 yards out for Clare, he gives a burst of speed to beat his marker and fire home - Clare are off the mark.

6 mins Waterford win a free-out, they fail to make use of it.

5 mins Clare can't hold on to any possession and need a a score to settle their nerves.

4mins John Mullane smashed the sliotar at goal while holding off his marker, he splits the posts.

2mins Patrick Donnelan charts another wide for Clare. Dan Shanahan underhits a chance for Waterford at the other end.
