Full-time: Tipperary 6-19 Limerick 2-07
Wow! Tipperary score an outstanding 24-point win over a hapless Limerick, who never recovered from a disastrous opening in which they shipped three goals in 17 minutes. Whether this Tipp side is strong enough to eclipse the Cats is another story, but on today's emphatic performance there is no team better placed to deny Brian Cody's men a historic four in a row. It should make for a mouth-watering final on 6 September.
70 mins Conor O'Mahony hits his third point of the day with a free from distance. 6-19 2-07
69 mins Brian O'Sullivan does well again and points for Limerick. 6-18 2-07
67 mins Corbett gets his hat-trick when he finishes with aplomb after a great build-up from Callanan. 6-18 2-06
66 mins Hickey points for Limerick. 5-18 2-06
65 mins After being held scoreless for 55 minutes, Corbett notches another fine point from play to take his tally to 2-01. 5-18 2-05
64 mins With a whole host of substitutions and the game becoming regularly interrupted, it's getting hard to keep track. Tipp score another point and Kelly adds another before making way for his brother. 5-17 2-05
60 mins GOAL! Corbett nets goal number two after being played in by the alert McGrath, who capitalised when Mark O'Riordan failed to hold on to a high ball into the danger zone. 5-15 2-05
59 mins 18-year-old McGrath scores a great point from the right. 4-15 2-05
58 mins Limerick's M O'Brien on for Paudie McNamara.
57 mins GOAL! Noel McGrath plays Corbett through on goal and Tipp's top scorer this summer provides a typically cool finish high to Murray's left to restore Tipp's advantage. 4-14 2-05
55 mins Tipp's Benny Dunne comes on for Shane McGrath.
54 GOAL! Donal O'Grady feeds the ball into sub Brian O'Sullivan and he brilliantly finds the right bottom corner of Cummins' net from well out. Is there a chance of a miraculous Limerick comeback? 3-13 2-05
52 mins Ollie Moran adds to Limerick's wides tally, now at 15, before O'Shaughnessy assumes free-taking duties and points with ease. 3-13 1-05
50 mins Kelly shows Limerick how it's done at the other end with a free to take his tally to 1-04, exactly what the entire Treaty team have managed thus far. 3-13 1-04
49 mins Gavin O'Mahony fails to build some momentum when he misses yet another free for Limerick.
48 mins GOAL! Brian Murray gives Limerick a glimmer of hope after making the long journey up from between the posts to drill a penalty home past three Tipp men on the line. O'Shaughnessy was harshly deemed to have been pulled down when running through on goal. 3-13 1-04
46 mins McGrath and Kerwick combine again for the latter to point. 3-13 0-04
45 mins Callanan puts over his third point at the other end after Kerwick had done the hard work on the right touchline. 3-12 0-04
43 mins O'Shaughnessy, fully aware that Limerick need goals, sees his goal-bound free hit Paul Curran on the backside and the follow-up 65 drifts wide.
42 mins There's no let-up from Tipp and Kerwick puts over another fine point to stretch his side's lead to 16 points. 3-11 0-04
41 mins Kelly claims his third point from a free after John O'Brien was fouled after an excellent catch from a Cummins puckout. 3-10 0-04
37 mins However, Limerick continue where they left off with Brian Geary missing a scoreable free, before Callanan goes up the other end and slots over at pace from halfway. 3-09 0-04
Ollie Moran and Brian O'Sullivan come on at half-time on for James Ryan and Paul Browne as Justin McCarthy reshuffles his pack.
Half-time: Tipperary 3-08 Limerick 0-04
Goals from Eoin Kelly, Noel McGrath and Pat Kerwick have given Tipperary a commanding 13-point lead at half-time, and unless the Treaty men can change things around dramatically, there is no fear of Tipp not facing Kilkenny in this year's decider. Limerick have been caught horribly lacking in most areas of the pitch, Justin McCarthy's tactics of dropping a man back from the forwards into defence clearly not working. Ominously, Tipp selector Eamonn O'Shea has said the bench are not happy with their first half performance, so could things get worse for Limerick. Stay tuned to find out how the second half unfolds right here.
34 mins Kelly, with 1-02 to his name thus far, uncharacteristically pulls a free from the right wide of the posts. Gavin O'Mahony does something similar at the other end, this time his effort goes off a post and behind. It's just not Limerick's day, who have got little change from a well drilled Tipp backline.
32 mins James O'Brien comes on for Niall Moran just after the latter scores a fine point after Andrew O'Shaughnessy had dropped a free short. Limerick have hit seven wides at this point. 3-08 0-04
30 mins Callanan ships a strong shoulder with ease and keeps his nerve to slot over a fine point, to leave Lar Corbett as the only Tipp forward no to score. 3-08 0-03
28 mins McGrath points again from play as the Tipp forwards show no mercy in front of the posts. 3-07 0-03
27 mins Conor O'Mahony is penalised for too many steps and namesake Gavin converts the free for Limerick's third point of a disappointing opening half. 3-06 0-03
26 mins Kelly adds another from a free on the right. 3-06 0-02
24 mins Conor O'Mahony points from another free for Tipp. 3-05 0-02
23 mins Five times All Star Kelly adds another free from halfway to stretch Tipp's lead to 11 points. 3-04 0-02
21 mins Conor O'Mahony points for Tipp. 3-03 0-02
17 mins GOAL! A mistake by Mark Foley allowed Kerwick through and the half-forward squeezed his low drilled shot past the despairing Murray, who has been given little protection in front of him for each of Tipp's three goals. The Premier boys are threatening a rout. 3-02 0-02
16 mins GOAL! Great work from Lar Corbett, who turned his man on the right before bombing towards goal and passing into Noel McGrath, who rattled the sliotar to the net first time just on the square. Seamus Callanan was also waiting to apply the finishing touch. 2-02 0-02
14 mins O'Mahony responds at the other end with a fine point from similar distance to Kerwick. 1-02 0-02
13 mins Kerwick is found in space at centre field and the Killenaule man steadies himself before pointing with confidence. 1-02 0-01
11 mins Donal O'Grady fails to find his range with another effort from distance as Limerick's profligacy threatens to undermine their chance of success in this game.
10 mins James Ryan adds another wide to Limerick's tally before David Breen opens their account from the right sideline. 1-01 0-01
8 mins John O'Brien splits the post after capitalising on O'Mahony's knockdown from Brendan Cummins puckout. 1-01 0-00
5 mins GOAL! A low ball in by Pat Kerwick catches Stephen Lucey out and Eoin Kelly is left with a free run on goal before lashing an unstoppable drive past Brian Murray. 1-00 0-00
4 mins Gavin O'Mahony shows his inexperience at the other end with Limerick's first wide of the game. Defences on top thus far, restricting forwards to long range efforts.
3 mins Tipp's Noel McGrath registers the second wide of the game from a sideline cut on the right.
3.30 Game on. Tipp win possession from the throw-in and work the bal to Eoin Kelly, who hits the first wide of the afternoon from wide on the right.
3.26 The teams are on their pre-match parade in near perfect conditions at HQ, where between 40 and 50,000 have turned up for what should be an intriguing game.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Munster champions Tipp come into the game as resounding favourites, but Liam Sheedy's men will not be taking anything for granted against a Limerick side who can be a match for any team on their day.
Whether today will be that day for Justin McCarthy's men remains to be seen, but you can keep up with all the action right here on the RTÉ website. The prize for the winner is, of course, a place in the All-Ireland final against four in a row chasing Kilkenny.
3.25 In the RTÉ studio, Cyril Farrell is calling a Tipp win, while Ger Loughnane is also going for a Premier victory.
3pm Some team news just in, sees Niall Moran come in for older brother Ollie Moran in the forwards as McCarthy deems the former fit enough to start after a recent injury to his finger.
The teams announced earlier this week are as follows:
