Aisake Ó h'Ailpín has been named at full-forward in the Cork side that will face Tipperary in their Munster SHC quarter-final at Semple Stadium on Sunday.

Ó h'Ailpín only returned from a stint with Australian Rules outfit Carlton in December, but he has impressed sufficiently in recent challenge games to be handed the number 14 jersey.

The rangy attacker will be one of three debutants named by manager Denis Walsh, with Eoin Cadogan and Conor O’Sullivan getting their first taste of Championship in the full-back line.

Seán Óg Ó h'Ailpín takes up his regular place at wing-back in an experienced side that doesn't feature retired trio Diarmuid O’Sullivan, Brian Murphy and Joe Deane.

Cork’s league campaign was disrupted by the strike action taken by players that forced Gerald McCarthy to resign.

And Rebel captain John Gardiner has accepted that the bitter aftertaste of that affair means that there are plenty of people – including some on Leeside – who want to see Cork fail.

'There’s definitely an element of that out there, even in Cork. People want us to fail. They're only waiting to come out if we’re beaten on Sunday,' the wing-back said.

'We know that too. But we’re still enjoying it.'
