Cork's Diarmuid O'Sullivan has confirmed his retirement from inter-county hurling after a glittering career with the Rebels.
O'Sullivan told RTÉ today that his decision wa spartly based on his desire to move from his trademark full-back position.
He said he had indicated to management his desire to play anywhere else on the field.
The Cloyne clubman, 30, made his debut in 1997 and won three All-Irelands and four All Stars as he established himself as one of the game's all-time great number threes.
He played his last game for the county in the semi-final defeat to Kilkenny last August, and has since concentrated on playing rugby for Highfield and hurling with Cloyne.
