A missed injury free from Alan McCrabbe cost Dublin what would have been a well-earned draw with Limerick in the NHL Division 1 at the Gaelic Grounds.
With Limerick leading 1-10 to 0-12 with just seconds on the clock, McCrabbe put his free wide, throwing away the chance to level the scores.
Seconds later Niall Moran went up the other end of the pitch and bagged a point that secured victory for Limerick with almost the last action of the game.
The result was harsh of Dublin and McCrabbe in particular, who was one of the most impressive performers on the day.
In a tight-game, the sides were rarely ever separated by more than two points and were level 0-06 apiece at half-time.
Limerick claimed the game's only goal early in the second-half when Moran made the most of a mistake in the Dublin goalmouth to find the back of the net.
Dublin dug deep after conceding the goal, putting together four unanswered points to sneak back into a 0-10 to 1-06 lead but two points from Moran saw the tide swing in Limerick's favour.
Both sides swapped points, with neither able to open up a significant lead and in the end it was to be Limerick's day.
