Walsh Cup champions Antrim were annihilated at Dungarvan by a slick Waterford side who eased to their second win in NHL Division 1A.
The Deise were 2-20 to 1-05 to the good after two Dan Shanahan goals had topped off a power-packed first half display.
Brendan Quinn notched Antrim's first point after 14 minutes and Simon McCrory supplied their goal soon after.
Karl Stewart and Paddy Richmond also found the hosts' net but Deise star Eoin Kelly took his tally to 1-06 to drive his side to victory.
The Saffrons, attempting to continue their good early season form, had designs on scoring a shock result at Fraher Field, but Justin McCarthy's home side were in a particularly mean mood.
Boosted by the return of centre-back Ken McGrath from a troublesome groin injury, Waterford had five points on the board before Shanahan smacked home a tenth-minute goal.
Declan Prendergast found the target after barely 12 seconds and Shanahan, McGrath (0-02) and Kelly followed suit before Shanahan beat Antrim stopper Ryan McGarry all ends up.
The Antrim management breathed a sigh of relief when Quinn crept over his side's opening point, but overs from McGrath (0-03), Shane Walsh and Kelly again powered the Deise into a 1-10 to 0-01 lead.
Antrim enjoyed a mini-revival as Liam Watson floated over a couple of frees and Paddy Magill raised a white flag before youngster McCrory picked his spot for a fine goal finish.
However, Waterford piled on more agony for the Ulstermen by hitting an unanswered 1-06 before the break. That haul included Shanahan's second goal and points from Prendergast, Michael Walsh, Kelly and substitute Eoin McGrath.
With that avalanche of scores in the first half, Waterford did take their foot off the gas on the resumption but only after Kelly had blasted home his goal from near the 20-metre line.
Antrim, whose 'keeper McGarry was called upon to produce some superb saves, threw caution to the wind for the closing quarter.
Watson went for goal from a close-range free, only to see his effort blocked but Stewart was in the right place at the right time to kick home the loose ball.
Watson tagged on a couple of points to cut the gap to 3-26 to 2-09 and while Richmond sneaked in for a late goal, the defending league champions were well out of sight and already contemplating their next game - a mouth-watering trip to All-Ireland champions Kilkenny next Sunday.
