Mike McNamara is set to take charge of Clare

Mike McNamara is in line to succeed Tony Considine as Clare hurling manager after being confirmed as the choice of the county's selection committee.

McNamara's appointment is likely to be ratified at a county board meeting tonight at which Frank Doherty will be confirmed as new football manager. 

County chairman Michael McDonagh said: 'I'm very pleased to be putting the names of Mike McNanara and Frank Doherty before county board delegates.'
