The GAA's Central Appeals Committee has upheld a decision by the Central Hearing's Committee in relation to Clare hurlers Barry Nugent, Colin Lynch and Andrew Quinn.

The trio were given four-week suspensions along with Alan Markham for their part in the pre-match scuffle before their Munster quarter-final with Cork at Semple Stadium last month.

Markham was unable to attend last night's hearing and his appeal will be heard at a later date.

The fines imposed on the Clare County Board will remain in place.
