GAA President Nickey Brennan has indicated that he will have plenty to say in response to criticism levelled at him by Cork manager Gerald McCarthy on the issue of the suspensions handed down to Cork and Clare players earlier this month.
Brennan declined to respond in full yesterday but said that he would address the issue after the weekend.
McCarthy lashed out at the media, various GAA disciplinary bodies and the GAA President himself when he spoke to journalists in Semple Stadium last Sunday.
McCarthy also claimed that the president abruptly hung up the phone on him: 'I got a curt response (from Brennan) followed by a hang up. I feel the players of our association deserve better than that.'
