Henry Shefflin returns to the Kilkenny hurling team for tomorrow's Allianz Hurling League final against Waterford at Semple Stadium.
Shefflin has not played a competitive game for his county since last year's All-Ireland final.
However the Cat's manager Brian Cody has brought him into the side to take on Waterford at the expense of Eoin Larkin.
The reigning hurler-of-the-year has been named at right corner-forward and will captain the team.
