Brennan named as new Mayo hurling boss

The vacant Mayo senior hurling manager post has been filled by former Mayo hurler and footballer Martin Brennan.

Westport native Brennan served as a selector under previous manager Frank Browne, who was critical of county board support for the hurlers.

Brennan was a star footballer for St Jarlath's College, Tuam and also played hurling and football for many years with Westport. He wore the Mayo jersey in all codes of football and hurling.

He will be assisted by long term hurling official Jimmy Martin.
