As the race for the vacant Wexford hurling manager positions takes shape former Limerick hurler Pat Herbert has emerged as a frontrunner for the job.
According to the Irish Daily Star, Herbert joins a short list that is already believed to include former Kilkenny defender Eddie O'Connor. The candidates are to be interviewed over the next while.
Former inter-county stars Michael Duignan, Len Gaynor and Nicky English have already ruled themselves out of the running for the job.
Wexford's 1996 All-Ireland winners Liam Dunne and Tom Dempsey have expressed a wish to remain involved with the county's underage side rather than become involved with the senior set up.
