The secretary of the Galway Hurling Board, John Fahey, has confirmed this afternoon that Ger Loughnane is re-assessing his position regarding the post of Galway manager.
It believed that Loughnane will clarify his position next week.
Tuesday's meeting of the Galway Hurling Board, which was expected to confirm the new manager, has now been postponed.
Former Clare hurling manager Loughnane ruled himself out of the running for the position yesterday, saying he was not prepared to run against Seán Silke and Joe Cooney.
