Anthony Daly has resigned from his position as manager of the Clare senior hurling team.

According to the Sunday Tribune Daly tendered his resignation to the Clare GAA County Board on Saturday.

Clare chairman Michael McDonagh told the newspaper: 'Anthony had always stated that this would be his last year. I was hoping he'd stay on for another year.'

In his three seasons in charge of the side Daly failed to win a single Munster SHC match despite bringing the side to a NHL final and two All-Ireland semi-finals and a quarter-final.
