Young forward Dessie Mythen looks set to miss out on Wexford's Leinster SHC clash with Kilkenny in Croke Park on Sunday.

Mythen, has failed to recover from a hamstring injury, that forced him to miss the start of their semi-final victory over Offaly.

Introduced during the course of the game, Mythen aggravated the injury, forcing his substitution late on.

During the intervening weeks Mythen has been unable to take a full part in training. Right now the team management look set to rule him out of the Kilkenny clash as his hamstring problem has failed to respond to treatment.

Paul Codd is expected to miss out after the recurrence of a calf muscle problem.

Buffers Alley player Willie Doran will also miss next Sunday’s clash with a hamstring problem.

Better news for manager Seamus Murphy is that corner-forward Rory Jacob is expected to shake off a heel problem to take his place in the side.

Murphy will name his side on Friday and admitted: 'Both Dessie Mythen and Paul Codd are unlikely to make the line-up owing to ongoing injury problems, but I expect Jacob to shake off his heel problem.'
