Alan Kerins has beaten off stiff competition from his Salthill-Knocknacarra team-mates to win the Connacht GAA Writers' Personality of the Month award for November.
The Galway hurler's dual exploits at inter-county level may have ended but he still let his football skills do the talking last month by helping Salthill to the Connacht club title.
The 29-year-old physiotherapist, who won an All-Ireland football medal with Galway in 2001 and was part of the Tribe side that felt at the final hurdle in the 2005 All-Ireland hurling championship, has played a starring role in Salthill's run through to February's AIB All-Irleand Club Championship semi-finals.
Kerins knocked over two points in the Galway champions' 0-09 to 0-05 quarter-final win against London's Tir Chonaill Gaels nine days ago.
The Connacht GAA Writers' Personality of the Month awards scheme is run by the Connacht Council in association with sponsors, the TF Royal Hotel and Theatre, Castlebar.
