All-Ireland winning hurling manager John Allen looks set to remain at the helm of the Cork senior hurling team for another season at least.
Allen, who took over the position from Donal O'Grady 12 months ago, guided the county to back-to-back All-Ireland titles with victory over Galway in last month's final.
Allen now looks set to lead Cork in the challenge for a third consecutive title. "I've spoken to all the backroom team now," he told the Irish Times.
He continued: "I obviously wanted to give everyone time to reflect, because even for myself it's the end of seven years' involvement, bar one year.
"The commitment now is huge, so I wanted everyone to have a bit of time to reflect, without all the hype of the week after the All-Ireland final. So I think that process has been done now."
Allen took the role of Cork manager a year ago with the provision that he could leave at the end of the season.
However, following Cork's capture of the Liam McCarthy Cup and the continuing backing of the board, he looks set to stay in the hot-seat of the Rebel County.
