No changes for Galway under-21s

Galway will boast an unchanged line-up for Sunday's Erin All-Ireland under-21hurling final against champions Kilkenny.

Manager Vincent Mullins has kept faith with the side that dumped Munster champions Cork out of the championship race last month. The Tribesmen won their semi-final clash 1-19 to 1-13 at the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick - the venue for Sunday's decider.

Two members of last year's All-Ireland minor winning side - Ger Mahon and Kerill Wade - will feature from the 2.00pm throw-in. Wade hit six points in the last-four win over the Rebels, while senior star Niall Healy, who lines out at full-forward, bagged four points.

Galway's last win at Under-21 level was back in 1996 when current seniors Alan Kerins and Kevin Broderick starred as corner forwards.

Mullins said: "An All-Ireland Under-21 title is certainly overdue for the county and after the disappointment of the senior final result, a win on Sunday would be additionally welcome."
