All-Ireland hurling champions Cork were treated to a heroes' reception last night as 50,000 fans packed out Parnell Place to welcome the team home.
The triumphant Cork side were treated to an open top bus parade through the city as thousands thronged the streets to see them parade the Liam McCarthy Cup.
The Cork team arrived at Kent Station in the city shortly after 7.30pm before the parade brought them through the streets to an open-air ceremony.
Team captain Sean Óg Ó hAilpín said the players were honoured by the reception they received.
Beaten finalists Galway also returned home last night where many thousands greeted them along with the victorious All-Ireland winning minor team.
