Waterford All-Star hurler John Mullane has been found not guilty of assault causing harm in a pool room row by a jury at Waterford circuit court this afternoon.

John Mullane told the jury that he got 'dog's abuse' from the injured party, David Keating, and his group in a pool-room in the Pulpit Bar in Waterford City on St Stephen's night, 2002.

He feared he was going to be attacked and he struck David Keating a blow but did not intend to strike him with his pint glass, which was in his hand.

After deliberating for just over 2 hours the jury returned a unanimous verdict of not guilty.
