Offaly have been handed a major boost with the news that star player Brian Whelahan will be available for his side's Guinness Leinster Hurling championship semi-final clash with Kilkenny.
Whelahan's future with Offaly had been in question after manager John McIntyre claimed he would have to plan for the Championship without his trump card.
However Whelahan, who was named in the 'Team of the Millennium', returned to training with the Faithful County last night.
Whelahan has been in fine form with club side Birr recently and it is because of this that he has decided to play on with Offaly.
McIntyre confirmed that Whelahan has agreed to rejoin the panel, but insisted that no-one should expect too much of him.
