Talismanic Kilkenny star DJ Carey is again named at centre-half-back in the Kilkenny hurling team for Sunday's league game against Laois.

The former All-Star forward moved made the positional change for a challenge match against Tipperary last weekend and has been asked to play at the back again.

"We wouldn't put him out in a league match unless we were confident he could do a good job for us," Kilkenny boss Brian Cody insisted.

Elsewhere, The Cats make four changes from the side that beat Galway, with Jimmy Coogan, Aidan Fogarty  and John Maher all coming into the side.

Kilkenny team: J McGarry; J Ryall, N Hickey, T Walsh; M Kavanagh, DJ Carey, JJ Delaney; D Lyng, B Barry; M Comerford, J Maher, W O'Dwyer; J Coogan, J Hoyne, A Fogarty.

Laois team: P Mullaney; B Campion, P Cuddy, P Mahon; J Fitzpatrick, S Dwyer, M McEvoy; J Young, J Walsh; C Coonan, J Rowney C Brophy; D Culleton, M Rooney, P Russell.
