Ger Cunningham is being tipped to replace Pad Joe Whelahan as mangaer of the Limerick senior hurling team.
Whelahan's position is in doubt following resounding defeats to Cork and Tipperary in their opening Allianz National Hurling League Division 1B games.
And, despite claims by the county board that Whelahan's job is not under threat, speculation is rife that former Cork All-Ireland winner Cunningham, currently coach of All-Ireland club champions Newtownshandrum, is set to fill the void should Whelahan depart.
Sources also suggest that Joe McKenna and Declan Nash would remain on as selectors.
