Limerick County Board PRO Denis O'Carroll has denied rumours that the position of senior hurling manager Padjoe Whelahan is in doubt.
O'Carroll stated that Whelahan has the full support of the players and the board, who feel it is not too late to rescue their National Hurling League campaign.
However, it was also announced earlier today that the County Board would be meeting tomorrow to discuss the hurlers' form to date, having turned in disappointing performances against Cork and Tipperary.
Denis Holmes, chairman of the county board, said today that there were no immediate plans to meet with Whelehan or players representatives, but the board will be concerned that the game attracted only 1,500 spectators to the Gaelic Grounds; five years ago 18,000 came to the same venue for the same fixture.
