Meath's senior hurling management team has resigned following the county's 1-8 to 0-14 defeat by London in last weekend's Allianz National Hurling League Division 2B opener in Navan.

Manager John Hunt, from Clare, and team trainer Eamon Cregan, the former Limerick and Offaly boss, ended their association with the Royals at a Meath hurling board meeting in Trim last night.

Hunt was appointed manager at the start of last season, but has enjoyed little success with the Leinster minnows. 

Meath face Wicklow in Arklow on Sunday in their second Division 2B match.
