UCD hurlers will be bitterly disappointed to discover that there will be no replay of the AIB Leinster Club Senior Hurling Championship final.

Despite James Stephens of Kilkenny being granted a point that TV footage proved was actually wide, the referee's report, which was submitted to the Leinster Council yesterday, confirmed the final score as 1-13 to 1-12, effectively ruling out any chance of a replay.

The Leinster Council issued a statement last night, confirming that the issue is now finished with.

Earlier in the week, the Villagers refused to offer to replay the match, despite UCD boss Babs Keating's repeated appeals for "moral justice" to prevail.

Stephens claimed they were content to progress, citing similar score-keeping errors that they have suffered in the past.

The Dublin side claim that another Stephens shot was also incorrectly given a white flag. However, the video evidence in this instance was not conclusive.
