Conran calls time on Wexford career

Wexford senior hurling manager John Conran and his selectors Martin Quigley and Dickie Murphy have stepped down after serving two of a possible three-year term.

The decision to step down was attributed to family and business commitments.

Wexford will now begin the quest to find their fourth manager in six years.

Speculation is mounting that George O'Connor may be involved in a future management structure.

The outgoing management have had a topsy-turvy two-year reign.

Two All-Ireland semi-finals and an unexpected Leinster title have been tainted by patchy league form and constant rumours of unrest in the camp.

Wexford's next County Board meeting takes place in the Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorthy on Tuesday.
