Kildare hurlers unhappy with County Board

Kildare's senior hurling panel are unhappy with their County Board over the fixing of club senior football championship games for last weekend, just one week ahead of Sunday's Leinster championship tie with Westmeath.

The panel, some of whom had to assist their football clubs, wrote to the County Board complaining that the hurlers preparations should not have been disrupted, but they are unsatisfied with the response they received.

The GPA has received a complaint from the players, and CEO Dessie Farrell is to issue a statement on the issue.

Meanwhile, Kildare manager Morgan Lawlor is uhhoping that his eight week suspension, received as a result of the referee's report on Kildare's league clash with Down, will be repealed in time to allow him lead his team on Sunday.
