Lyons vacates Clare hot-seat

Cyril Lyons has resigned as manager of the Clare senior hurling team. Lyons, who had been in charge of the Banner men for three years, led his team to last year's All-Ireland final where they were beaten by Kilkenny. But this year they were ousted from the Munster Championship when they lost to Cork in the semi-final and were then beaten in the qualifiers by Galway. Trainer Louis Mulqueen and selector Ger O'Loughlin have also stepped down from their posts.
