Antrim retained their Guinness Ulster Senior Hurling Championship title with a convincing 3-21 to 1-12 victory over Derry at Casement Park in Belfast this evening. Derry had made a game of it in the first half, however, two late goals before the break from Brian McFall effectively ended the Foylesiders' challenge.
Leading 2-11 to 0-9 at the restart, Antrim refused to let their grip on the game loosen. Gregory Biggs netted three consolation points for Derry in the 66th minute but Aidan Delargy replied by hammering home Antrim's third goal in the 68th minute after his initial effort was blocked by Kieran Stevenson. Delargy then got the final point of the game to seal a 15-point win for the Saffrons.
