Tipperary's Paudi Butler has been confirmed as the new manager of the Laois senior hurling team. The Drom-Inch clubman has had considerable success as a coach with club teams in his native county as well as underage Tipperary sides. He was the manager of the minor county team that won the All-Ireland title in 1996 and was in charge of the Under-21 team last season.
He takes over for a three-year period in succession to Offaly's Pat Delaney. Laois hurlers won promotion to Division 1 in the Allianz League this year, taking the second division title and they also won the All-Ireland B Championship.
Butler has yet to name his fellow selectors.
