Kilkenny beat Clare – NHL Round-up

Kilkenny comfortably overcame Clare 3-14 to 1-12 in the National Hurling League Division 1A at Semple Stadium today. The star of the day was Stephen Brennan who scored 2-1 for Kilkenny, who lead from the beginning and were brought back to level terms just once. The Leinster side were much the better team in the second half and with Brennan and Henry Shefflin in sparkling form, the points were always likely to go their way. Also in Division 1A, Dublin overcame Leinster rivals Meath by 1-15 to 0-09, and Waterford beat Galway by 1-16 to 0-16.

In Division 1B, Limerick beat Wexford 2-16 to 1-12, Cork thrashed Offaly by 4-17 to 1-10 and Tipperary annihilated Derry 5-23 to 0-03. Elsewhere, Kildare beat Roscommon 0-17 to 2-09 in Division 2A, while Laois and Kerry registered wins over London and Wicklow in Division 2B.
